Hello, I’m Diane. I’m married to David and have a teenage daughter. I’ve lived in Abingdon for 21 years, shop locally and have seen a lot of changes since I moved here. I believe that it’s really important to build a strong community. We have a lot going for us already in Abingdon – a riverside environment and good communication networks. But there are times when all of us need a bit of TLC. Life gets busy and ‘stuff’ crops up to make us feel overwhelmed. That’s the reason I volunteer as a Chaplain here. I know from personal experience how much it means when someone spends a bit of time with me – and I guess that goes for all of us. We all matter. What we do in this town of ours matters. We all build the community that we depend on to support and help us (and others). I describe the role of a Chaplain as a ‘friend on the street’ and that is what I will try to be. I’m a member of All Saints Methodist Church on Appleford Drive
