I have lived in Abingdon since 1961, with 3 years in Oxford before then, and came originally from Yorkshire. After university in London & Cambridge I taught Maths in Oxford, had a break to have two children and then taught for another 26 years at a local school here. I'm lucky to live very centrally so do most of my shopping on foot in the town. We are both very involved with town events:- Abingdon & District Music Society, a local Church and the 'Church in Abingdon'. One of our children belonged to the Rowing Club and went on to row at Cambridge for the University and the other was a keen Cricketer with the North Abingdon club, so we were naturally supportive of both groups. I was involved with the ADMM (Abingdon & District Millennium Miracle) in 2000 which was a town wide event raising neary £50,000 for Water Aid. We regularly go to the Plays in the Unicorn Theatre and the amateur concerts which local groups produce. I love reading and doing puzzles (not Sudoku thank you), cooking and foreign holidays.
