Margaret.

Rev. Richard Bittleston

I have lived in Abingdon since 1961, with 3 years in Oxford before then, and came originally from Yorkshire. After university in London & Cambridge I taught Maths in Oxford, had a break to have two children and then taught for another 26 years at a local school here.  I'm lucky to live very centrally so do most of my shopping on foot in the town.
What brought my husband and me to this area?  Harwell of course.

We are both very involved with town events:- Abingdon & District Music Society, a local Church and the 'Church in Abingdon'.  One of our children belonged to the Rowing Club and went on to row at Cambridge for the University and the other was a keen Cricketer with the North Abingdon club, so we were naturally supportive of both groups.

I was involved with the ADMM (Abingdon & District Millennium Miracle) in 2000 which was a town wide event raising neary £50,000 for Water Aid.

We regularly go to the Plays in the Unicorn Theatre and the amateur concerts which local groups produce. I love reading and doing puzzles (not Sudoku thank you), cooking and foreign holidays.
